An upcoming virtual Lunch & Learn program hosted by the State Archives will commemorate Pearl Harbor Day with “Remembering War in the Pacific: An Internment Camp Experience.”

Ready, set, tune in! The Friends of the State Archives of North Carolina invite you to learn about the history of one of our state’s great football rivalries during a virtual lunch & learn program.

Join us for a Flag Day lunch & learn discussion to consider the history of North Carolina’s state flag and a current proposal to change it.

Ruth Cody and Erin Gallagher from the State Archives and Ashley Lomboy and Coty Sutherland from the Waccamaw Siouan STAR Preservation Project will be presenting “A Conversation About Researching Tribal Histories with the State Archives” at the 27th American Indian Heritage Celebration on November 19th at the North Carolina Museum of History.

Discover records of enslavement from across North Carolina through the People Not Property project. The virtual presentation will be held Monday, November 7, 1-2 p.m., as part of the Friends of the Archives annual meeting.

Historians will discuss exciting new research about the Regulator Movement in North Carolina during an upcoming program presented by the State Archives. The virtual roundtable, “The Regulator Movement and New Research,” will be held Tuesday, May 24, 12 – 1 p.m.

To celebrate National Poetry Month, the State Archives of North Carolina will host History in Verse, a virtual program on documentary poetry featuring N.C. Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green Thursday, April 7, at 7 p.m.
