The State Library and State Archives of North Carolina will host a virtual program, “North Carolina Trivia Night,” Thursday, Jan. 27, 6-7:30 p.m.

To help limit the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, the State Archives of NC in Raleigh, Outer Banks History Center (OBHC) in Manteo, and Western Regional Archives (WRA) in Asheville will be closed from Jan. 4-15. All three locations will reopen to the public on Jan.

The State Archives of North Carolina will host a virtual roundtable, “Holiday Flavors of the Past,” Tuesday, Dec. 14, 7-8:00 p.m.

Starting Nov. 8, 2021, Search Room hours will be Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (closed Sunday and Monday). Also note the Search Room will be closed Thursday, Nov. 11 for Veteran’s Day.

Due to more personnel working onsite, the State Archives public research space in Raleigh is expanding its hours of operations.

The Friends of the Archives will host a virtual annual meeting and program, “North Carolina Cemeteries: Documentation and Research,” Monday, November 1, 1-3 p.m.

Celebrate All Saints Day by learning about cemetery archaeology and genealogy!
