North Carolina Digital Collections (NCDC)

The NCDC contain over 109,000 historic & recent photographs, state government publications, manuscripts, and North Carolina content from the State Archives and the State Library of North Carolina.

The State Archives of North Carolina, Government Records Section, Outer Banks History Center, and Western Regional Archives have very diverse holdings in a variety of formats. The list below is meant to give an overview of the digital collections, resources and online tools available to researchers. For online content from the Outer Banks History Center and Western Regional Archives, please visit their pages.

Microfilm copies of some newspapers held by the State Archives are available through this Library of Congress project thanks to the efforts of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
