Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers provide support to the mission of the State Archives of North Carolina without expectation of pay. Volunteer opportunities are open to anyone with experience or interest in archives and the history and heritage of North Carolina. Whatever skills you have, we are committed to finding the right opportunity for you. Volunteer projects vary, but may include transcription, indexing, metadata creation, or rehousing archival materials. Depending on the project, volunteer work can be completed in-person at the Archives and Records building in Raleigh or remotely.
If you are interested in volunteering for the State Archives of North Carolina, contact us at internship.archives@dncr.nc.gov. We will respond to your inquiry within two weeks.
