Historians will discuss exciting new research about the Regulator Movement in North Carolina during an upcoming program presented by the State Archives. The virtual roundtable, “The Regulator Movement and New Research,” will be held Tuesday, May 24, 12 – 1 p.m. Using archival documents, the speakers explore the Battle of Alamance and its connection to the Regulator Movement.
The Richard M. Hunt papers are now available for research. Colonel Richard M. Hunt served with the U.S. Marine Corps and participated in World War II (WWII), the Korean War, and the Vietnam War with high distinction. He later worked with Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey as his military aide from 1967-1969. His photographs are searchable through the State Archives of North Carolina Flickr page. His 800 letters to his wife and 350 letters detailing with military movements in the Vietnam War and his personal thoughts on it are searchable through the State Archives.
