The State Archives of North Carolina will host a virtual roundtable, “North Carolina’s Colonial Court Records,” Tues., June 22, 7-8:30 p.m.
Learn about colonial North Carolina and new discoveries from the Archives!
State Archives staff experts will discuss colonial North Carolina and share highlights of the court records collection. A corps of 300 volunteers has been helping transcribe these documents so that genealogists and educators can access key information about ancestors and topics such as property, labor, gender roles, and trade goods. After brief presentations, staff will address your questions about colonial North Carolina and the documentary evidence the Archives preserves.
Panelists:
Doug Brown, Reference Unit Supervisor
Marie Stark, Project Archivist
Olivia Carlisle, Digitization Archivist
