What was the Battle of Alamance and why did it occur? Pose your own questions about the Regulator Movement to two experts in colonial North Carolina history during a virtual lunch & learn program. Historians have explained the 1764 Backcountry uprising as either a preliminary step to the Revolution or as a completely separate phenomenon. Troy Kickler, former colonial records editor of the N.C. Office of Archives & History, and Orange County Register of Deeds, Mark Chilton, team up to explain the Regulator Movement and to present exciting new research that explores the influences of neighborhood and religious denominations.
