As part of the America 250 N.C. programs, we are excited to announce our One Day Wonders! One Day Wonders features various documents from the state archives, traveling across North Carolina for a one-day viewing.
On September 17, visit the Mountain Gateway Museum (78-C Catawba Ave) in Old Fort to view three important documents that shaped North Carolina's history: the State Constitutions of 1776 and 1868, as well as a letter from John Adams entitled, "Thoughts on Government". Staff from the state archives will be on-site to help answer any questions. These documents are coming westward in part thanks to the McDowell County Public Library.
This is a free program, and you will be able to view these documents from 10:00 - 5:00 that day. Keep an eye out for other One Day Wonders across the state!
