State Records Center
Location and Access
The State Records Center (SRC) is located at 215 North Blount Street (across from the Governor's Mansion) in the state government complex in downtown Raleigh. The SRC was built for the purpose of storing government records, and is not a normal office building. We also maintain two off-site facilities.
The SRC houses offices for the staff of Government Records and Electronic Records. It has a classroom for on-site workshops and large-scale records use.
In accordance with NC Administrative Code, entry and access to the SRC building is limited to persons on official business (7 NCAC 4 M .0512). Visitors are required to provide identification, are registered in the SRC's Patron Registration database, and must wear a visitor badge when in the building. Access by persons not on official business may be denied. Visitors are escorted by SRC staff when in areas beyond the administrative offices.
The SRC is located on the corner of Blount and Lane streets, directly behind the State Archives/State Library Building. The front door for the SRC faces the front door of the Governor's Mansion. The SRC's loading dock is on the side of the building facing Lane Street.
